ABOUT THE EVENT
President Biden directed the DOL to update the FLSA overtime rule in May 2022.  Although the proposed rule has been delayed, the DOL has now issued the proposed overtime rule.  This new overtime rule will significantly change who you currently have classified as exempt since it is expected to dramatically increase the salary level threshold.  The current salary level threshold for who can be classified has been raised significantly to a much higher amount which will lead to many more currently exempt employees no longer being exempt and being able to now earn overtime pay.

What You Will Learn
  • What the new DOL rule will change under the FLSA for classification of employees as exempt
  • How to properly classify employees as exempt under the new proposed DOL OT rule
  • What are the white-collar exemptions under the FLSA and will the duties test change under the new proposed rule
  • What amount is the new salary level threshold  raised to?
  • How long till the new proposed FLSA OT rule is effective?
  • Will there be court challenges to the new rule?
  • And much more!!!
