Repayment agreements are one of the most error-prone—and high-risk—areas in HUD Multifamily compliance. When income is misreported or calculations are incorrect, the result is subsidy errors that must be corrected retroactively, often under scrutiny. This is not just about calculating what is owed - it requires a precise, defensible process involving investigation, tenant notification, documentation, certification corrections, and accurate voucher handling.
This practical, step-by-step session gives you a clear roadmap for handling repayment agreements the right way. You’ll learn when they are required, how to calculate them accurately, how to structure compliant agreements, and how to manage them from start to finish in alignment with HUD Handbook requirements and EIV findings. Just as importantly, you’ll learn how to strengthen your processes to prevent repayment situations before they happen.
Why You Should Attend
Repayment agreements sit at the intersection of compliance, financial risk, and tenant relations. Get them wrong, and you risk audit findings, repayment liabilities, MOR issues, and tenant disputes. Get them right, and you protect your property, your funding, and your credibility. This session will help you eliminate guesswork, avoid costly mistakes, and confidently manage even the most complex repayment scenarios—including noncompliance, fraud determinations, and voucher corrections.
