ABOUT THE EVENT

Every year, HUD multifamily properties lose thousands of dollars simply because special claims go unfiled or get denied due to preventable errors. This high-impact training reveals exactly how to unlock that hidden revenue by mastering the art of Regular Vacancy and Unpaid Rent/Tenant Damage claims. Learn which documents matter most, how to build a complete package, and what makes a claim approvable—or immediately deniable—according to HUD’s own checklists and guidance. You’ll get step-by-step instruction on using HUD Forms 52670-A, 52671-A, and 52671-C, learn how to document readiness, prove collection efforts, and appeal a denial with confidence. This session breaks down eligibility, timelines, and submission strategy so your property can reclaim what it's owed. If you think special claims are too complicated or not worth the effort—this training will change your mind and boost your bottom line.

Why You Should Attend

Special Claims aren’t just extra paperwork—they’re untapped revenue your HUD property may be leaving on the table. But the process is technical, time-sensitive, and unforgiving if your documentation isn’t airtight. This training helps you stop the guesswork and start recovering what your property is truly owed. If you manage move-outs, handle resident ledgers, or compile HUD submissions, this session will show you exactly how to turn compliance into cash flow.

Areas Covered

  • Identify the eligibility criteria for HUD Special Claims across HUD Multifamily programs (like PRAC, Project Based Section 8)
  • Complete HUD Forms 52670-A, 52671-A, and 52671-C accurately for Regular Vacancy and Unpaid Rent/Damage claims.
  • Assemble documentation packages that meet HUD’s checklist standards, including security deposit records, waiting lists, and certified letters.
  • Calculate claimable amounts according to HUD rent formulas and program-specific limits.
  • Avoid common submission errors that trigger denials or reductions in claim amounts.
  • Appeal denied claims with clear justifications and supplemental evidence that meets HUD’s requirements.
