Preparing a HUD Budget-Based Rent Increase request requires careful documentation, a complete submission package, and an understanding of HUD’s review and approval process. Requests are often delayed or denied because the Owner submits an incomplete package or fails to adequately support the request. Understanding what to submit, when to submit it, and how to respond to HUD’s questions can help Owners navigate the process more effectively.
In this comprehensive 3-hour webinar, Gwen Volk will explain how to prepare and submit a Budget-Based Rent Increase request, respond to HUD follow-up questions and requests for additional information, and understand the options available when HUD denies or partially denies a request. The session will focus on the submission process, the importance of providing a complete package, and the steps Owners can take when their requested rent increase is not fully approved.
Participants will learn what documentation and information to include in their submission, when and how to submit the package, how to address HUD’s follow-up inquiries, and when and how to appeal a denial or partial denial of a Budget-Based Rent Increase request.
This session is applicable to Section 8 projects renewed under Options 2 and 4, projects renewed under Option 3 Lite, and certain Option 5 projects. It also covers Section 202 PACs, Section 202 PRACs, Section 811 PRACs, and HUD-insured projects where a budget-based request is usually the only way to obtain a rent increase.
Whether you are preparing a new request or responding to questions or a decision from HUD, this session will help you better understand the requirements and procedures involved in completing a Budget-Based Rent Increase submission.
By the end of this session, participants will understand:
